Make Your Mark Workshop

Have you ever looked at nonobjective abstract or contemporary expressionism and thought ‘I want to do that. How did they do that?’. This fast-paced class will help you put the need for control in the back seat while hitting full throttle on the gas for creativity. Working from a live model, the class will draw lines from the figure with their feet and bamboo sticks. Using bamboo sticks and their feet takes control out of the drawing, and allows space for the artist to create for themselves. We will start with 5-minute gestures to help get in the mindset, and then work our way down to 5-second gestures. Making fast-paced marks takes your mind off of creating the composition and just creating. Finding your mark is something every artist needs to find their style.
