Frequently Asked Questions

for artists and models

  • Every Sunday. 11:15 am - 1:15 pm. Free Range Brewery in NoDa, Charlotte, NC.

If the brewery is closed, so are we. We would only cancel sessions fell on a holiday. You can also get our Google Calendar here.

We do advise that you come at 11 am to get settled and find a good spot. Our record of guests coming is 90 people.

  • Just like in the movies, artists come and work from a living nude model. Yes, the model is nude, naked, and/or dressed to their comfort level. These artists are here to work; draw, paint, sew, crochet, or sculpt from the human form.

  • It’s free!! That’s right, you can come and work from the figure for free. The sessions are held at Free Range Brewery in NoDa, so we ask that you purchase items from Free Range to support local business.
However, we do ask for tips. All tips are split between the model 60%, host 30%, and Creative Convergence CLT 10%. $15 tip example: Model $9, host $4.50, CCC $1.50. The 10% for CCC really covers the behind-the-scenes work.

  • No. This particular setting does not allow reference photographs of the model at any time during the session. In rare cases, the models will ask the host to take a photograph. This is strictly used for the model’s discretion.

  • We hire models from all levels. Some people come and it's their very first day and they need to wear some pazzaz (large necklace, fairy wings, wool socks, swim suit) to feel comfortable. Some models are working with us during the beginning of their monthly lady cycle, and they need to cover up their privates to ensure they don’t bleed on stage.

9.8/10, the model will be completely naked. On some occasions, we work with the model and their comfort level.

  • Creative Convergence does not provide art supplies; we ask that artists bring their own. However, this group is very friendly, and we have witnessed artists trading and sharing supplies many times. Please do not always count on this kindness.

  • Ms. Meikle is making an extravagant supply list with recommendations. Stay tuned. Hopefully, this will be done by next year.

  • No. We are not a zoo. Voyeurism is prohibited to respect the models' vulnerability and the artist’s work.

  • CCC brings an elevated stage, a long bench, yoga mats, and drapery for the window.

  • The model is expected to bring a robe or something for them to easily change into and out of during breaks. CCC does not bring robes or blankets. We occasionally bring a heater if needed or requested during the winter months.
