Figure It Out is a series born from exploration, experimentation, and artistic discovery. Created during a period when Meikle was working across multiple paintings while searching for a distinctive visual language, the series began as a study and evolved into something far more significant. Through an intuitive process of refinement and repetition, these works revealed the aesthetic direction she had long sought to achieve. Balancing structure and spontaneity, Figure It Out represents a pivotal moment in Meikle’s practice—a body of work that captures the journey of finding one’s artistic voice while embracing the uncertainty required to get there.

'Doodle' 0007 I 8"x8"
$100.00

“Doodles” is a playful, experimental series created from scrap paper collected during Meikle’s painting classes. These sheets—originally used by students to clean brushes and brayers—are repurposed as the foundation for new works. Meikle responds to each piece by sketching spontaneous line drawings on the reverse side, then cutting directly along those lines, allowing accidental marks and traces of prior use to guide the final form.

This intuitive process transforms discarded materials into dynamic compositions, where chance and gesture play an active role in shaping the outcome.

Each “Doodle” cut-out is a one-of-a-kind work, and no prints are produced. All Doodles are shipped in a shadow frame.

Eb and Flow MP 2 I 4' x 6'
$7,000.00

During her MFA studies at School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Ms. Meikle became determined to eliminate the paintbrush from her creative process. Seeking a more direct and physical relationship with her materials, she developed compositions through the interplay of modeling paste, pigment, and sheer kinetic energy. Rather than relying on traditional mark-making tools, the work emerges through movement, gesture, and an intuitive engagement with the surface.

The modeling paste rises from the panel, creating a dynamic three-dimensional relief that captures the force and rhythm of its application. Layers of texture and pigment interact to produce a sense of motion, transforming the artwork into both a visual and physical experience. The resulting compositions invite viewers to engage not only with color and form but also with the traces of action embedded within the material itself.
