‘Find the Wave’ was created from non-recyclable contact lens containers (aka blister packs). This installation aims to keep plastic out of the landfills and oceans.
Why donate?
Your donation helps keep this non-recyclable plastic out of landfills and oceans. It takes roughly 5 minutes to assemble each contact lens container. Roughly 8,000 pieces will be used in the final form of this project. That’s 1,000 hours. There is no way to be paid hourly for this project; the real effort donations go to the assembly of the truss and or canopy for this project.
Contact lens containers (aka Blister Packs) can be broken down by TerraCycle and reused as outdoor gear. But that costs money to become a sustainable artwork that can carry a message of hope for the future. Living in a more sustainable, reusable way is how this world can last longer.

Absolutely! Ms. Meikle is accepting donations from everyone. All blister pack shapes and sizes are used in this installation.
We are also looking for on-site volunteers to essentially punch holes into plastic and wire them together. Ms. Meikle wants the volunteers' time to be respected and reciprocated; that's why for every hour you volunteer, $25 will go towards a painting or artwork as payment.
